Prioritize Needs

Of course, you may not be able to have all of the things on your needs/wants list. Your new throne room shouldn’t cost more than the house did. I’ll help you choose features by priority in website sections on designing and on budgeting. For now, put them in the order in which you feel they are most important to your needs.

For example, additional privacy within the bathroom may be a higher priority for you and your living group than, say, installing a television. Or setting up a comfortable place to relax in the tub and watch sitcoms may be at the top of the list. It’s a judgment call—but it’s your bathroom.

If you share the room with others you should get other inputs. In fact, asking for and considering other viewpoints can help cement relationships. Yes, people do break up over events like bathroom remodels. And through this remodeling effort you may need all the friends you can get, so ask others to participate in the design.
