You have an estimated budget of the costs of your bathroom remodel, but it may not be very formal. Type or neatly print an estimate of all materials and labor costs. Include actual remodeling plans. This is your formal summary of the design and costs of your bathroom remodel. You can include additional notes in your remodel job file, including fixture specifications and a list of suppliers. Also include “before” photos and your bathroom remodel notebook. This is your working file. If your remodeling job is extensive also include an estimate of the value your home will increase with the new bathroom. You can do your own homework, analyzing other homes in the area, or you can ask a real estate agent or hire an appraiser to give you their estimate of how much the home will increase in value with your remodel. Remember that you don’t pay an agent for this advice so it is an educated guess, but an appraiser is paid so it is a professional estimate and more accurate.
