Even if they still operate well fixtures can be updated with new designs to make your bathroom look fresher at low cost. You can buy new faucets, for example, for less than $50 each and install them in an hour. A light fixture can be replaced for under $100 and an hour’s work. A ventilation fan can be replaced for about the same money and effort. You can replace worn or damaged light switches and receptacle covers for an investment of just a few dollars and a few minutes. Bathroom fixtures are the final components in various systems. In plumbing systems they are the toilet, shower head, tub faucet, and sink faucets. In electrical systems they are the outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures. Because bathroom (and kitchen) fixtures are right out in the open (you don’t have to tear into a wall to get to them) they are great candidates for replacement.
