Extended Bath Facelift

An extended bath is one that goes beyond the toilet-lavatory-tub/shower combination, primarily for relaxation. That includes a hot tub, spa, soaking or whirlpool tub, or other amenity. A master bath typically adds a shower and a second lavatory sink. If you want to add one of these luxuries to an existing bathroom you’ll learn how in Extended Baths. For now we’re concentrating on popular facelifts to existing extended baths.

Remodeling Words

Most extended bathrooms are at least 100 sq. ft. in size (10 ft. X 10 ft.) and go up from there. A garden bath, for example, with double-sink lavatory, separated toilet area, whirlpool, and maybe a waterfall or garden area must be at least 150 sq. ft. in size to accommodate all the amenities.

An extended bath is bigger of necessity. You can’t have a hot tub in a small bathroom. Fortunately, extended bathrooms offer a larger pallet for easy remodeling. Often, you don’t have to move fixtures, just replace them. You can paint or wallpaper in creative ways. You have room to add decorative touches that change the mood of the room, making it more relaxing and comfortable. You have more options.
