If you need a new wall or one moved, you can hire a framing contractor. They can install joists, floor decking, walls, rafters or roof trusses, and roof sheathing. The framing contractor may also install doors, and windows, and exterior siding. If you decide to hire a general contractor, she or he may do the framing and maybe even a few of the other specialized jobs. You don’t want to hire contractors outside of their expertise, but many are sufficiently knowledgeable of the entire building and remodeling process to do more than one job.
