You have another good option: simply refinishing the existing cabinets. If you’re tired of the cabinets, but the frames are sound then refinishing can be the best idea. It’s also cheaper than buying new cabinets so it fits nearly everyone’s budget. Refinishing wood cabinets requires sanding and preparing then applying finish. However, many modern bathroom cabinets aren’t solid wood, they are laminate or even faux-wood. How can you tell what your cabinets are made of? Find a finished surface that doesn’t really show and scratch it with a sharp object. If the surface is merely a photograph of wood you’ll scratch right through it. You won’t be able to sand it down and refinish it. However, you can cover it with paint or other resurfacing products.
