Countertops

Bathroom cabinet countertops can be purchased premade or can be built on-site once the cabinets are installed. Countertop material includes solid, pre-form, laminate, ceramic tile, marble, granite, and stainless steel. Let’s take a look at each:

* Solid countertops are manufactured of acrylic or polyester resin and color additives into sheets.

* Pre-form countertops are manufactured as a single unit applying a laminate sheet over a particleboard form that includes both the top and the splashboard.

* Laminate countertops are manufactured as particleboard with a laminate sheet designed for final assembly of the splashboard and edging on the jobsite.

* Ceramic tile countertops apply tiles over a solid wood base, fill the space between tiles with grout, and seal the grout against moisture.

* Sheets of marble and granite can be installed as solid countertops, polished in the factory or on the jobsite.

* Stainless steel countertops are manufactured to size and installed over the cabinet frame at the jobsite.
