An extended bath is one that has more amenities so the price goes up as fast and as far as you want it to. As guidelines, a standard makeover for a basic extended or master bathroom will be about $9,000 with the deluxe version coming in at around $14,000. If you are upgrading to a whirlpool, sauna, or other expensive amenity, tack on the extra cost. (Note: a basic bathtub is about $600 and a deluxe version is around $1,200, deductible from whatever your fancy-smancy tub will cost.) The square-foot cost of extended bathroom makeovers is $110 to $170 or more in our examples. Again, cut the costs about in half if you’re doing all the labor yourself.
