| Defining the Project |

The building plans you developed in Bathroom Plans should be sufficiently accurate to guide a professional builder. That means all components and fixtures are clearly identified and specified (described) in a way that makes sense to builders. For example, windows should be described by size (3 ft. X 4 ft.), style (double hung, casement, etc.), type (double-glazed, triple-glazed), trim (vinyl clad, metal clad), and other components (screens, drip cap). The cost, the installation labor, and the results all depend on your accurate description of what you want in your remodeled bathroom. Remodeling Tips Specifics make planning the job easier. Be as specific as possible as you describe, design, and plan your remodeled bathroom. Approximating the location of a lavatory, for example, can become costly as you later have to move plumbing to match the cabinet you decided to purchase. ***06FIG03 PU-fyb76b1*** If using a design software you may be able to easily specific the type and size of window for the plan. In most cases all a builder needs is a set of single-dimensional plans that indicate locations and dimension of fixtures and materials. In some remodels there will be details that can’t be communicated on a flat plan. That’s when detail drawings are made. A detail typically is a cross-sectional drawing that shows what the component looks line if cut in half. For example, an alcove in a shower wall may best be described by a detail drawing to show the framing, the plumbing, and subsequent tile and fixtures.
