Adding a new bathroom can be more complex, depending on what’s already there. That is, you may be able to add a new bathroom on the floor above an existing bathroom and extend the plumbing and electrical service. Or you may need to extend the home’s foundation to accommodate a brand new room before you even start on the walls, plumbing, electrical, and other stuff. A third option is to expand an existing bathroom, turning an adjacent closet into a shower or taking a few feet out of one room to add it to another.
