There are other energy-efficient home insulation materials available, with new ones coming out all the time. They include insulation blankets made of multiple layers of corrugated paper. Other materials are formed-in-place insulations, which include sprayed and plastic types. Sprayed insulation is usually inorganic fibrous material blown against a clean surface that has been primed with an adhesive coating. Foams can be molded or sprayed in place. Urethane insulation is applied by spraying. Polystyrene and urethane boards are available in 1/2” to 2” thicknesses.
