| Installing Supply Lines |
|
The first step toward installing hot and cold water supply lines in your basement is to decide where the appropriate fixtures will be installed. That is, mark on the floor and the wall framing the location of any sinks, toilets, showers, and other plumbed components. That’s where the pipes will deliver their loads. Next, make sure you know where the water lines will come from. If the flooring system above the basement is open, it may be easy to find and trace lines to a location close to the new installation. For a closed floor you may need to map and measure the system on the floor above and estimate where the lines will probably be underneath the main floor and above the basement. If you’re working from a full set of remodeling plans you already know this information, indicated in the plumbing plans. They make life easier.
