Vent pipes are required by building codes to allow gases trapped in waste lines to vent to outside the home. You may be able to use existing vents that run to the roof if the new components are vented above any existing components. Local building code and your approved plumbing plans will give you more specifics.

New DWV lines can be joined to the existing system in the same manner. Determine where the lines will run (hopefully, you already figured this out already). Drain pipes are cut and assembled using the same process as supply pipes, above.
